Is there really that big of a difference in how adults and teens use social media?

I've heard my kids tell me that Facebook is only for "old people"

WOW- Is that even TRUE? I certainly don't FEEL old!

It turns out, teens dominate networks like Facebook and Twitter, while (surprisingly- at least to me) adults use Instagram, Pinterest, and Tumblr more than teens.

What does this tell us? Well for starters- it gives us information on who we should be marketing to and on what platforms. If you want to get a message to teens, Pinterest probably isn't the place to do it.
